utm does not install linux after reboot
You just finshed the Linux install process, rebooted your vm, and found your Linux distro wasn’t installed. :( *cries
Solution:
Step 1:
Go through your Linux distro’s installation process, and STOP when you get to the section that tells you to reboot your vm.
Step 2:
Instead, do a force shutdown of your vm.
In the top left corner of UTM near the close, minimize, and fullscreen icons there should be a button that allows you to force shutdown your vm.
UTM will prompt you that a force shutdown may corrupt your vm.
Ignore it.
Step 3:
Go to the vm selection screen in UTM, click on your vm but DON’T press play.
Step 4:
Instead, go to the seciton that has all your vm’s spec such as Status, Architecure, Blah Blah blah.
Scroll down til you see a drop down menu that says “CD/DVD” and select clear.
Step 5:
Press the play icon on your vm to start your vm.
Your vm should now boot into the Linux distro you installed.

Check your distro iso’s sha256sum to make sure it isn’t corrupted.
Example
sha256sum alpine-virt-3.23.3-aarch64.iso
